Stuart Kennington, new Margarita Salas fellow at IQCC

Dr. Kennington has recently become a new member of the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (IQCC) as a Margarita Salas Fellow. Dr. Kennington received his PhD in Chemistry from University of Barcelona in 2020. During his PhD, he worked with Prof. Fèlix Urpí and Prof. Pedro Romea on the development of new, direct and asymmetric Ni(II) catalysed carbon-carbon bond forming reactions and their application to total synthesis. At this moment, he holds a Margarita Salas Fellow position in Dr. Anna Pla-Quintana’s group of the IQCC. He is working into development of carbene alkyne metathesis cascade reactions: access to planar chiral compounds, selectivity control with silver, copper and iron catalysts and functionalization of fullerenes. He started in April 2022 and he will be in the IQCC until, al least, March 2024.

Welcome Stuart and good luck!
