CaixaBank and Microsoft have just announced the winners of the WONNOW 2024 awards, recognizing female excellence in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – university degrees, aiming to promote diversity and contribute to reducing the gender gap in these sectors. The award consist in a six-month scholarship to work in key areas of the CaixaBank Group’s technology teams, and access to an individual mentoring program from Microsoft.
Among the 16 prize winners is Ana Rojas Fernandez, who completed the BSc degree in Chemistry at the UdG last academic course. Ana did her final degree project with a
summer IQCC fellowship under the supervision of
Dr. Pedro Salvador from the TCBioSys group at our Institute. In the project, she implemented in Python several wavefunction analysis tools. She is now studying a master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Privacy, with a specialization in Systems, at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).
Since its creation in 2018, more than 4,800 students from all over Spain have entered the WONNOW Awards. In this latest edition, a participation record has been broken again, with a total of 1,078 applications, quadrupling the number of participants from the first year. Ana is the first student from the UdG ever selected in the WONNOW awards.
Congratulations Ana!
