Xavi Ribas wins Research Excellence Award Serra Húnter

This month the Pla Serra Húnter from Government of Catalonia announced that Prof. Xavi Ribas, researcher at the Institut de Química Computacional i Catàlisi (IQCC) of the UdG has been selected to receive the Research Excellence Award, awarded through the Reconeixement al Talent Serra Húnter initiative. These individual awards recognize outstanding contributions by Serra Húnter professors in key areas such as teaching, research, outreach, and knowledge transfer. Each public university in Catalonia has selected one professor per category, highlighting the commitment and impact of Serra Húnter faculty across all institutions.

Xavi Ribas obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 2001 at the University of Girona (UdG). From 2002 to 2004, he performed a postdoc research at the Materials Science Institute of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC). In 2005, he returned the University of Girona as a Juan de la Cierva fellow and became associate professor in 2006. His main research interests are:
