Former IQCC member Giorgio Olivo appointed as assistant professor of Organic Chemistry by La Sapienza University of Rome

Recently Giorgio Olivo, a former IQCC member, started his independent career as an Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry at “La Sapienza” university of Rome, Italy, in the Department of Chemistry. Giorgio was a post-doctoral fellow (two as a Juan de la Cierva fellow) at IQCC for five years (2016-2020), working in the QBIS-Cat group with Miquel Costas on supramolecular oxidation catalysts. Before that, he pursued his PhD studies (2015) at “La Sapienza” university of Rome under the supervision of Stefano Di Stefano. Now, he will explore reactivity and catalysis at the interface between coordination, radical and supramolecular chemistry, aiming to use fundamental understanding as a rational basis for the design of new catalytic processes.

The IQCC congratulates him warmly and wishes him success in his new adventure!
