A few weeks ago a new author database of top scientists was published by a team of four researchers from the USA and Netherlands, which took data from Elsevier’s Scopus database to provide standardized information on citations and several indices. Two approaches were taken, one long-term (career) impact and one short-term impact where output from a specific year (2017, 2018) was targeted. Overall, more than 100.000 top scientists were listed in the author database, among which twelve UdG-based researchers (such as e.g. Ramón Brugada, our IQCC-researcher Miquel Costas and Emili García-Berthou) were positioned for the career impact (1995-2018); in total, seven out of the twelve UdG researchers listed are working at the IQCC. Looking at the year 2017 output only, a total of nineteen UdG researchers are listed (with a total of seven researchers from the IQCC), among can also be found our Rector Quim Salvi. We are honored and pleased to see the research output of the IQCC and the UdG being recognized like this at the international level, and are looking forward to more of these recognitions in the future.
