Marc Garcia-Borràs receives Marcial Moreno-Mañas Award 2023 for young researchers of RSEQ-Cat This week the Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ) announced that Dr. Marc Garcia-Borràs, Ramón y Cajal fellow at the Institut de Química Computacional i Catàlisi (IQCC) of the UdG, received the Marcial Moreno-Mañas Award 2023, for his scientific career of quality and excellence. Last month (February 25-27, 2024) took place the XIV Spanish-Italian Symposium on Organic Synthesis in Torino (Italy), which included a poster session. Filippo Scarchilli, PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Miquel Costas, presented a poster titled “Highly selective C(sp3)–H bond oxygenation at remote methylenic sites enabled by polarity enhancement”, and won one of the poster prizes.

Miquel Solà has recently been selected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). This scientific society, founded in 1980, aims to promote the understanding and advancement of the chemical sciences. Although the vast majority of more than 50,000 members of the association are British, this is also open to researchers from around the world.
Last month (August 27-31, 2023) took place the European Conference on Computational and Theoretical Chemistry 2023 (EuChemS CompChem) in Thessaloniki (Greece).
