The project ELEGANCE: Machine learning for integrated multi-parametric enzyme and bioprocess design, within the HORIZON-MSCA-2024-DN- 101226960 call, aims to establish an academic training programme based on experimental and computational methodologies, such as data science and AI, to engineer integrated multi-parametric enzymes and bioprocesses. Its key objective is to prepare the next-generation specialists with the necessary hard and soft skills to advance data-driven biocatalysis and accelerate bioprocess development. The consortium, coordinated by Prof. Carlos G. Acevedo-Rocha (Technical Universty of Denmark), includes partners from different countries: Denmark, Italy, Spain, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, France and The Netherlands. The MSCA grant is 4.470.727,68 € (Osuna team: 282.188,16 €) for a period of four years (1/2026-12/2029). Prof. Sílvia Osuna, ICREA researcher professor at the IQCC-UdG, will be in charge of the Girona research, centered around computational platform for enzyme discovery, improvement, and evaluation.
