The Nature Synthesis journal features on its front cover of the August 2024 issue the research article “Engineering non-haem iron enzymes for enantioselective C(sp3)–F bond formation via radical fluorine transfer” by Dr. Garcia-Borràs in collaboration with Prof. Xiongyi Huang’s group. Enantioselective C(sp 3)–F bond formation is reported using an engineered non-haem iron enzyme. The process proceeds through a radical fluorine atom transfer pathway, which converts N-fluoroamides into chiral benzyl fluorides.
