Cover Nat. Synth. on Biocatalytic desymmetrization for synthesis of chiral enones using flavoenzymes

The Nature Synthesis journal  features on its front cover of the November 2024 issue the research article “Biocatalytic desymmetrization for synthesis of chiral enones using flavoenzymes” by Dr. Garcia-Borràs in collaboration with Prof. Zhen Liu’s group. Chiral enones are produced, using flavin-dependent ene-reductases, through a desymmetrization approach. Enzymatic desaturation and reduction processes enable the synthesis of either enantiomer of the enone products from cyclohexanone or cyclohexadienone substrates.
