The Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis of the University of Girona organizes the 2021 virtual edition of the Science Slam to show the most representative research projects of the Institute to a wide audience.
A Science Slam is a form of science communication where scientists present their own scientific research work in a short time in front of a non-expert audience. Since 2015 the IQCC has been organizing annually such a Slam, where the principal investigators (PIs) resume their work in 2 minutes. Because of the current situation, this year’s edition will be fully online with videos in English and in Catalan, in which the PIs describes their research in an entertaining fashion. This year’s topics show a wide variety ranging from sustainable catalysis to hardcore quantum-chemistry, and from enzyme design to fullerenes.
For the UdG students of Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, there is an additional benefit, because they can win one of the eight summer fellowships to work within one of the IQCC research teams. So, check out the videos, and apply to join the team of your choice!
