European Researchers’ Night 2026 at IQCC

Every year in September since 2008, the IQCC is organizing together with the Scientific Culture and Digital Communication (C4D) unit of the UdG, the Diputació de Girona and the Girona City Council the European Researchers’ Night with the aim to bring science closer to the Girona general public. The European Researchers’ Night is a coordianted project with Dr. Sívia Simon (reseracher of IQCC) and others entities (https://lanitdelarecerca.cat).

On September 25, 2026, the European Researchers’ Night took place in Girona. The main event was organized from 10 am to 8 pm, where there were different workshops. The IQCC participated in different ways, Dr. Sílvia Simon as organizer, researcher MSc. Carles Alcaide, MSc. Raúl Lago, MSc. Cristina Berga “Podcast” workshops; Prof. Marc Garcia-Borràs, MSc. Gopi Pavindran, MSc. Swapnali Bourude and MSc. Visvesvarar Pitchai with the “Les cadenes d’aminoàcids”;  MSc. Adrià Montal, MSc. Nil Insa with “Passejant entre molècules”;  MSc. Guillem Vila, MSc. Rabab Maqsood, MSc. Zanira Mushtaq, MSc. Rupal Sharma, MSc. Fiza Fariha and MSc. Mahrou Moshfeghnia “Construeix el teu propi nanografè” workshop; Prof. Sílvia Osuna, Dr. Hannes Meinert,  MSc. Evgeniia Kostina, MSc. Cristina Serra and MSc. Laura Escudé with the “Contes de ciència per a nens i pintem enzims” workshop.

Furthermore, the researcher MSc. Thalia Ortiz did a microtalk about “From pollutant to valuable resource: the chemistry behind reusing CO2” at CaixaForum (24th Sept).
