Five times a day there is a direct bus from BCN Airport to Girona Station, which takes ca. 2 hours and 30 minutes and costs about 19 EUR for a one-way ticket. Leaving from:

Fast train from BCN airport

There are four different ways to reach Barcelona Sants station for taking the FAST TRAIN (AVE/Avant):

  • Metro line L9 that connects BCN Airport (T1 and T2) with the city metro lines
  • Local bus to Barcelona city center
  • Taxi
  • Slow local train (twice per hour, from Terminal 2; there are connecting buses from T1 to T2 that take ca. 15 minutes)

The trip from Barcelona Sants to Girona Station by fast train (AVE/Avant) takes ca. 40 minutes, and costs ca. 13 EUR (Avant) or 25-75 EUR (AVE). Including transport to Sants, the total trip through fast train should take ca. 1h45m.

Slow train from BCN airport

There is a slow train connection from Barcelona Sants to Girona Station, which takes ca. 1h30m. The slow train can be taken from Barcelona Sants, similarly as for the FAST TRAIN.

If going by slow train it is better to stay on the train until "Passeig de Gracia", and wait at the platform there, where ca. 25 minutes later the slow train to Girona will pass by.

By bus to Girona

Girona Train/Bus Station is connected by different cities in Europe through international bus lines (e.g. EuroLines).

By car to Girona

Girona is one hour drive from the French border (La Jonquera), and ca. two hours from Montpellier. There is a pay-road (peatge) both in Spain and France to reach Girona fast.
